The crew were Chas. Bailey (mate), Chai Burns, a B.A. man known as " Mike," an another whose name is not known who wt working his passage- Capt. Bailey whe the vessel struck made a determined effoi to swim to shore, but missed the lin thrown to him by a fisherman on the beac and was dashed against the rocks. H breathed for a few minutes after bein washed ashore. The body has been brough to town, Capt. Bailey leaves a wife an family who re.sido at Waitara. A mirvivo jumped overboard before the vessel strucl and after swimming about one hundrei yards he clambered on to the recks, fron which he was rescued by means of a liu J passed out to him by th» people onshore.
