The celebrity of its HOT SPRINGS fc is extending throughout the length and breadth of the Colony, and the 1 WONDERFUL CURES. effected by the" Waters in cases of RHEU- ' MATISM, GOUT, LUMBAGO, LIVER., AND KIDNEY COMPLAINTS, INDIGESTION, and Kindred Ailments, are gratefully testified to in the Visitors' Book by Hundreds of Persons who by their use have been lestored to Health and all its enjoyments. The place is far excellence the Sanatorium of the People. The CLIMATE in its HEALTH-GIVING PROPERTIES is unsurpassed ; the COST OF LIVING is exceedingly MODERATE ; and the locality is easy of access by kivkk, hail, or 1 road, from Auckland and the Thames. In ad- " dition to these advantages there are for the " Robust abundant means of enjoyment in Boating, Riding, and Driving, while lor those in delicate health the neatly laid 2 out Domain forms a most pleasant resort. The i following analysis of the Waters by Mr T. A. Pond Colonial Analyst, and the accompanying extracts from bis report thereon to the Domain Hoard, will be read with interest. The Samples were taken from the Springs, as numbered, thft temperatures of which ranged from lOadegs. to lOdcgs. These Waters are all feebly alkaline and strongly charged with carbonic acid gas, which is constantly escaping from the Springs in large quani tities. The Lilhia. a valuable constituent of 3 these Waters, is present in an appreciable quantity. The Analyses show these Springs to be 1 very similar in composition. These Mineral Waters are exceedingly interesting, and will 1 prove of great value medicinally. They closely resemble some of the European Mineral Springs 1 -o justly celebrated, more especially those of 1 Vichy, Ems, and Fachmgen. Their Curative I Value will be greatest in Rheumatic and Arthritic Diseases, Calculus, Affections of the Kidneys, and Dyspepsia. You may rest assured 1 that all you can do for your Springs in the shape of improving the facilities for their use, is entirely ustifiod by the charactet of the water.
