Most ot the performers acquitted themselves well, the gem of the evening was, however, the duet by Mr and Mrs O. Garland. As is always the case the comic songs were encored. Mr Johnson made a great hit with his " Water " and afterwards substituting "Grog. Mr Wilson did full justice to the " Yellow Girl and Mr Watson's " Widow McShano " was immense. The accompaniments were played by Miss Wilson and Messrs McDerinott nnd Hirtly. On the motion of MrT. Hicks a hearty vote of thanks was tendered to the performers, Mr O. Garland being specially mentioned, as ho had managed the whole of the musical arrangements. The room was then cleared and dancing commenced and wan kept up until 5 a.m.
