MiiMANTia moved for leave to ],iy upon tho tiiblo ii draft bill I" amend Ilia Parliamentary Honorarium and Privilegea Act 1887, which was precluded by the ruling of the Speaker on July 211. The motion was negatived'on the casting vote of the Hun, Mr Baillic, acting Speaker. The Council adjourned at 1.30. On resuming at 3.50, the message tram the J,ii\ver House, asking that the journals of the Council should be searched, with tho view of ascertaining; what posflioii the JJistrict Hallways Bill, and NiiviilTind Military and Volunteers Land Claims Bill wore in, was agreed to. Tho amendments made in the llouso of Representatives in tho Land Transfer Act Amendment Hill were agreed to, with the exception of those in clauses '1 and 3 and new clauses 13. The Council adjourned at 3.30. The Council met at 7.30. A message was received from the House of Representatives asking the Council to agree to a conference on the Chineso Immigration Act Amendment Hill. On the motion of the Attorney-General it was agreed to, and the Council rose at 7.50.
