THE WRONG QUEEN.
The Manchester Neusten Naohrichten relates the following incident:—During tho Queen's vUit to Florence she was invited to witness the yearly display of fireworks before the cathedral. An upstair apartment, with three windows, from which tho best view could be obtained, was prepared, and specially decorated for her Majesty's reception. When all was in readiness, and waiting for the Queen's arrival, Queen Natalie of Servia suddenly appeared with her son, and insisted on entering and taking a seat at the Queen's window. Shortly afterwards her Majesty and Princess Beatrice drove up, and taking in the situation at a glance, declined to go upstairs, announcing that they preferred to remain on tho ground floor. The Syndic of Florence was distracted, but there was no help for it : the Queen of England occupied a bare little room, with a few chairs hurriedly thrust into it, and did not even see the gorgeously decorated apartment above, which bad been got ready for her with such pains. Wheu the display was over, the Quoen drove away without casting a glance behind her; and the enthusiastic enviwis and shouts of the Florentines soon succeeded in banishing from her face the slightly-annoyed expres.-ion it had worn when she entered her carriage.
