AS a SUMMER RETREAT Xi. not one amon? the SANATORIA of New Zealand is so rapidly becoming famous as TE AROHA. The cclebrity of its HOT SPRINGS is extending throughout the length and breadth of the Colony, and the WONDERFUL CURES. effected by the Waters in eases of RHEUMATISM, GOUT, LUMRAGO, LIVER, AND KIDNEY COMPLAINTS, INDIGESTION. and Kindred Ailments, are gratefully testified to in the Visitors' Hook by Hundreds of Persons who by their use have been jestored to Health and all its enjoyments. The place is far excellence the Sanatorium of the People. The CLIMATE in its HEALTH-GIVING PROPERTIES is unsurpassed; the COST OF LIVING is exceedingly MODERATE ; and the locality is easy of access by rivbr, rail, or road, from Auckland and the Thames. In addition to these advantages there arc for the Robust abundant means of enjoyment in Boating, Riding, and Driving, while for those in delicate health the neatly laid out Domain forms a most pleasant resort. The following analysis of the Waters by Mr J, A. Pond, Colonial Anatyst, and the accompanying extracts from his report thereon to the Domain Board, will be read with interest. The Samples were taken from the Springs, as numbered, the temperatures of which ranged from 105degs. to 10degs. Fahr: — r .2 Analysis. The Litbia, a valuable constituent of lese Waters, is present in an appreciable quan- * ty. The Analyses show these Springs to be r J -ry similar in composition. These Mineral Waters are exceedingly interesting, and will *ove of great value medicinally. They closely t ise-mble some of the European Mineral Springs i i justly celebrated, more especially those of ichy, Ems, and Fachingen. Their Curative - aluc will be greatest in Rheumatic and Arth- r tic Diseases, Calculus, Affections ot the idneys, and Dyspepsia. You may rest assured at all you can do for your Springs in the ape of improving the facilities for their use, is ttirely ustificd by the character of the water.
