Two thousand rounds of am inanition have been sent up to the scene. A large body of police, fully armed, have been despatched to Brokong Station, where several noil-Unionists are held as prisoners. The coal masters and the miners have declined to accept the mediation of the Chamber of Commerce. In the Legislative Assembly, MrJames Munro, member for Gcelong, tabled a motion for the increr.se of the Stock Tax. Tne Government acccepted the motion, as want of confidence, aud the debate is now proceeding. HoiiA ut, August 16. The no-confidence debate on the motion attacking the Government's finaucial policy is still proceeding. Newcastle August 10. A committee has been appointed by the citizens of this place to endeavour to mediate in the dispute between the coalminers and their employers. I'jiKTll, August 16. The brig Okenbury, from Mauritius to New Zealand, has put into Fieeniantle in a disabled condition. She was short of provisions, and the crew had for twelve days lived solely on lice.
