ANNEXATION OF TASMANIA.
[By Elkctric Telegraph.—Copyright. 1 Houart, August 17. A movement is afloat in Launceston to get the colony annexed by Victoria, 011 the grounds of the incompetence of Tasmanian legislators. The want of confidence motion tabled by Mr Hobart Nicholas Brown, member for Cumberland, has been negatived. Ministers announced their intention to withdraw tho Property-Tax proposals, and introduce a modified scheme.
