' The Waikato Times Ojticc, Wednesday. MONTHLY GRAIN REPORT. Messrs Golds borough <fc Co report.— Melbourne, July 31.—Operations in the wheat market during the past month havo only been on a limited scale, owing to holders showing no disposition to realise at present prices. The latest telegrams from the home market, however, show that prices are improving, and, should they continue to rise, we may look for a bettef demand, both for shipping and local consumption. The prices ruling during the early portion of the month were —For prime milling up to 3s 3d, and for faulty and medium descriptions up to 3s 2d. Present prices are—Prime milling, 3s 4d, f.o.b. ; inferior to medium, 3s to 3s 2Ad.—Oats are iu better demand, owing lo the short supplies and the anticipated alteration of the duty on this cereal, and we have disposed of all offering at the following quotations : —Calcuttas, up to 2s 2d; for thin to medium feed 2s Sd to 2s 9t3, and up to 3s for stout. Barley : There is very litttle business doing. Feed qualities sell up to 2s Bd, and for malting from 4s Gd to 5s 3d, according to samples.
