A STRANGE ACCIDENT.
Mn G. A. Laidlaw, of Hnntly. met with mi alarming accident on Tuesday, attended with very peculiar circumstances. He was riding at a slow canter from Ohinewai, in company with Mr Robert Muir, when his horse without a moment's warning, reared right back and fell over dead 011 top of its rider. The horse did not breathe or move again. Mr Laidlaw lay with his leg and hip jammed into a sand bank under the weight of the dead horse. Mr Muir and some iiiUn came at ouce to his assistance and roleasod him from his perilous position. Fortunately, no bones wero broken, Mr Laidlaw, howover, is still stiff with the bruises lie sustained. Tho horse was a splondid hack, and was valued at £15.
