IvKTOUT : At Cambridge, on Saturday, August 4th, at Messrs Booth and Robert's incut sale, there was a very largo attendance, moat was very prime, and sold well, best joints realising •l.|-d per lb. At the cattle and sheep yards there was a good muster of both, and good con,petition. Nearly all sold. We quote: Old dairy cows, at profit, ill 10s to £2 10s ; young cows, £3 to £1 ; 3-yrs-old steers, £2 10s ; fat heifers, .£3 to £310s ; ineriiio owes, (is 4d each, fat hoggotts, 8* (id. At the horse yards, not many horses brought forward, nearly every one offered sold, and there still remains an unsatisfied demand for plough horses, good hacks, and carriage pairs. We could place several pairs of the latter at good prices. Some good bacon and hums sold fairly well. A large lot of furniture made good prices. At Ohanpo, on Tuesday, on account of the extreme wet weather proceeding sale day, several lots of cattle did not come forward, and the yards were only partly filled, there was good demand for all classes except fat stock, which were dull of sale, although of prime quality, good steers for turnips were in request and sold well, many more could have been placed at satisfactory prices, good fresh cows and heifers were in demand also. Only one lot of 50 ewes were yarded and sold for 10s each. Turnip steers, well-bred, £-1 to £1 5s ; smaller ditto, £210s to £3 ; big cows off swedes, £2 5s to £2 12s ; calves, 10s to 12s lid. Mit Alkkkd Buckland's Wrkkly Repout.—During the past week loose fodder and oaten sheaves have ranged in price from Is 31 per cwt. ; ryegrass, 2s (id ; cocksfoot, -ts ; oats, 2s 3d; maize, 2s lid per bushel; bonedust, £5 10s to £7 10s ; prepared manures, £8 10s per ton. At the cattle sale, held at Waiuku on Saturday last, springinf, cows and heifers were dull of sale. Fat cattle fairly inquired for. Barren cows and growing steers in good inquiry at full values. At Kemuera, on Thursday, dairy cows at calving were plentiful. Piices on the whole lower, but improved as the sale proceeded. Thoy ranged from £3 to £C. Store cattle at lato values ; three-year-old steers from £2 17s lid to £3 3s ; two-year-old steers, £2 2s; ten-month-old steer calves, 15s; dry cows from 15s to £2 5s each. Fat cattle yarded in full numbers ; best quality were at last week's values, but second-class about 5s each lower, and those rallied as the sale proceeded: a few woro withdrawn. Steers from the West Coast ranged from £5 5s to £S 10s; from Waikato, from £5 5s to £li 12s Gd, and were from lGs to 18s per lOOlbs. Fat calves at full values throughout. Sheep fully kept last week's values. Prices for wethers ranged from 12s to 17s ; aged ewes in lamb, 10s each. Mkhsks Hu.vreu axd Nolan's Wkbkly Rktout. — Horse feed, grain, seeds, etc. : A steady demand has existed at tho previous week's values ; the supply has been ample. Wo quote : Maize, 2s 8d per bushel; feed oats, 2s 3d ; bran, £3 10s to £4 per ton ; oaten chaff, £2 to £2 7s (id ; carrots, £1 to £1 5s per ton. Horses: Dullness has characterised the market, in consequence of the short supply and inferior stamp brought forward. A limited number were submitted by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday, and most of them had previously put in an appearance, and for these competition was dull, but for strangers was brisk, and there remained an unsatisfied demand for both hacks and light harness horses of a good stamp. There was no noteworthy alteration in prices. Wool, hides, skins and tallow : Large quantities were pitched at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, and there was a spirited demand. Wo quote : Heavy ox hides, 4d to 4id per lb ; mediums, 3id to 4d cow, 2i'd to 3jd ; calf skins, 3id to -lid per lb ; sheep skins, Is 2d to 5s each. Cattle:— The number brought forward has been short of requirements, and prices hud an upward tendency. The Newmarket yards were but moderately supplied on Tuesday, but there was a good muster at Pukekohe on Wednesday. For dairy stock there was steady demand, for stores and fat beasts it was brisk, ami there was a slight advance in the value of store steers, as also of fat beasts, fully 10s per head—some averages of which were: £5 10-. £C, fli lis 3d, t'ii 15s, £(i 18s (id ; «ows : £3 10, t:i 12s CI, £.'! 15s, £4 15s. Sheep were fairly represented at Newmarket on Tuesday, and advanced in value. Wethers sold at from VA< to His 3d ; ewes, lis to 13s. Pigs: A. limited number were yarded, but of good quality ; competition was brisk at from 2jd to Sid per lb. live weight, and there remained an nnsatislied demand for the best sorts. LONDON MARKETS.
