HAMILTON PUBLIC LIBRARY.
A JIKETiNO of the Library Committee was held in the Hamilton Borough Council Chambers, on Tuesday evening. Present, Messrs Knox, Parr, Pannell, R. F, Sandes, ■Salmon, and von Sturrner (chairman). The minutes of the two former meetings were read and confirmed. Report.—The report of the sub-commit-tee appointed to take over the institution from the late management was read and adopted. Unuetuknkd Books.—lt was resolved to call in books in possession of subscribers over the stipulated time. The list of missing books to be published in The Waikato Timks. State of thk Libbabt.—Messrs Gelling and von Stunner were appointed a subcommittee to examine the condition of the books and report at next meeting. Fit Publications.—After a somewhat animated discussion, the following resolutions were carried : — Proposed by Mr Knox, and seconded by Mr Sandes, "That a sub-committee, to be afterwards named, be appointed to examine the books at present in the library, and report to this committee as to their titness for the shelves." Carried. Moved by Mr Knox, seconded by Mr Sa'mon, "That Rev. R. O.'C. Biggs, Rev. Father Fox, Rev. J. Hendrie, Rev. T. G. Carr, Messrs von Sturmer, Sandes, G. Edgecumbe, Salmon, Parr and the mover be asked to act in accordance with the last resolution." Carried. An amendment moved by Mr Pannell, and seconded by Mr Parr, was lost. Rdi.es.—A sub-committee was appointed to report on the rules and regulations for the library.^^^^^^^^^^
