NELSON, l'Yiday. < A telegram in the Nelson Evening Mail reports the death, by drowning at Waitapu, of Captain Edward Robertson, formerly master of a vessel trading to that Port. A boat sent ashore from the steamer, Lady Barclay, with the passengers under his charge, capsized, and he was drowned. The others were saved. PORT CHALMERS, Friday. Arrived : Mercury Barquentine, Captain Thomas, forty-seven days from Mauritius. She encountered a heavy south-cast gale on the 23rd ult. which carried away part of her bulwarks on each side, smashed a boat, and did other damage, The ijale lasted for three days.
