LATEST WELLINGTON NEWS

(by teleoraph—press association.) Wellington, Friday. A special meeting of the Board of Education was held this morning to consider whether the Minister of Education should be requested to appoint a commission to enquire into the charges of immorality in public schools as alleged by the Times and Mail. After a discussion it was carried " that the Board having examined into the charges of immorality made against our public schools by the New Zealand Times and Mail, is of opinion that there is no foundation whatever for these charges and therefore no necessity for further enquiry." The Native Minister has been advised that the native who was the cause of the recent outbreak near Whangarei has been banished to the Hokianga District. An immediate and peaceful solution of the whole difficulty is expected.
