HORSES FOR SYDNEY.
Mr John Hill, farmer of Tamahere, who some time ago took a shipment of horses from Waikato to Sydney, has decided to repeat tlio venture. He will leave on Monday n»,xt with a lot of about thirteen light harness horses, which appear to ir.eet with the best market at present. These are all offspring of Merrylegs, and should meet the tastes of the Sydneyites. We heartily wish Mr Hill every success in his spirited enterprise. Mr Hill is also turning his attention to the Indian market, in which he sees a great future for New Zealand stock of the right class. No doubt the example and success presented by Mr Hill will give inducements to others in this district to compete in the same quarters. The New Zealand Stud Company have 300 horses ready for shipment to Calcutta. A number of these were purchased in the Waikato by Major Walmsley, who has been the selector of nearly the whole lot on behalf of the Company, he having visited Wanganui and other districts as well, for that purpose.
