TE AROHA MINING NEWS.
Mr Howel, the American expert who was brought over by the Te Aroha Silver and Gold Mining Company has finished his inspection hero and has gone down to Karangahake to have a look at the smelting works being erected by Mr Parkes, the English expert, with a view to putting up a similar one at the company's works at Waiorongomai. On the strength of the directors visit and Mr Howell's inspection, the company are going immediately to erect another roasting furnace, nearly similar to the one now in use, also a large smelting furnace. They also intend to at once add 20 head of stampers to the battery, to be used for crushing tho gold-bearing stone only, the 40 head at present in use to be confined to the crushing of stone bearing tho baser minerals. The contractor is now at work building a new and spacious office, so that when all are completed they will have a large area covered with works of one sort or another.
