It is stated that Ostnan Digma's camp has been burnt by incendiaries, and 2,000 rebels are said to have perished. Violent storms are reported from Pennsylvania and adjoining States, doing great damage to property. A number of people and cattle were killed by lightning. Rukacv is an Indian village in the Schwan district. A fire recently occurred there, in which thirty-nine hauses were destroyed, »ud ten women and two boys burnt to death. A Rome correspondent says the Pope has been asked to create another English Cardinal, and the names of Bishop Clifford and Monsignor Stonor are mentioned as likely to be promoted to the Sacred College.
