(by tklkgraph—press association.) CHRISTCHURUH, Monday. Thk Magdala Asylum for fallen women was consecrated yesterday afternoon by Bishop Grimes. Over 2000 people wure present, and the collection realised was about £200 in cash, besides promises. There are now 40 penitents in the asylum. BLENHEIM, Monday. A man named Long was brought up at the R.M. Court to-day, charged with wilfully setting fire to a four-roomed house on Wednesday last. NAPIER, Monday. Norman Fitzgerald and Nellie Thompson were to-day charged with sly grog selling , , and were fined respectively £45 and £25, with a month's imprisonment in default on each charge.
