LATEST WELLINGTON NEWS.
(BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, Wednesday. A serious assault has been committed on a girl aged 10, residing at Upper Hutt, by a young man named George Hodgetts. He was captured in the bush. An accident occurred to-day to a young man named Thos. Morris, a member of one of the City Volunteer Corps. While hand- \ ling his rifle at his residence, it went off, and the bullet entered his right breast near the heart, and passed out at his back. The lung is also injured. Mr Bell, counsel for Broughton in the Renata Will case, concludes his address in the Supreme Court this afternoon. Mr Chapman, on H. Donnelly's behalf, will address the court to-morrow.
