THE SALVATION ARMY.
The first public enrolment of the local corps of the above Army took place at the barracks on Tuesday evening last. Before calling upon those win intended t'i join, Captain Cutler read the "articles of war,' after which 22 persona went forward and had their names put down. The second enrolment will take place in about a fortnight's time. The enrolment was followed by a coffee supper for the soldiers and Christian sympathisers, when about 130 sat down to a sumptuous spread. The meeting broke up at about 10.30, and all present thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Now, that a portion of the soldiers have been enrolled, they are looking forward to tlu time when they will be able to march in their uniforms, which will be in about a fortnight or three weeks.
