HAMILTON PUBLIC LIBRARY.

The newly-appointed Library Committee held their initial meeting yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Library readingroom. There were present : His Worship the Mayor, Messrs Q. Edgecumbe (in the chair), (Jelling, H. M. Salmon, von Sturiner, Parr, R. F. Sandes, Pannell and Knox. Mr G. Edgeourabe was elected to the position of hon. treasurer, and Mr J. (J. Pannell was appointed hon. sec. Messrs Gelling and Pannell were instructed to receive the properties of the Library from the retiring committee. It was decided that the committee should hold their meetings on the first Tuesday in each month at 7.30 o'clock p.m. in the Hamilton Borough Council Chambers, five to form a quorum. The next meeting of the committee will be held on Tuesday, August 7th, at the hout and place appointed.
