At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday bid ding was brisk, and prices satisfactory. Ox hides, 4d to o[d ; sheepskins, Is 9d to 4s each. At Pokeno a fair muster of coivs and young cattle, allot' which were sold. At I'ukekohs a large number of cows were sold at .I*2 10s to £4 liis each. At Renmera on Thursday dairy cattle were at last week's values, prices for these near calving ranged from .£3 10s to £li: fat calves, in moderate supply, sold briskly at improved values; fat cattle were better worth, prices for best steers were at 17s lid per 1001b ; cows, from lis and upwards. Sheep sold irregularly, there was a full market, and at the beginning last week's prices were sustained, but fell about Is each as the sale proceeded. I'rices for long-woolled wethers ranged from 12s to 10s 3d ; nierinoes, Is IM each. Pigs, unusually plentiful, sold freely, and last week's prices wore fully sustained. Horses: The number brought forward has not been so large as usual, and almost without exception were of inferior stamp. The muster at the Durham Yards fur sale by auction was scarcely as large as usual, and bidding was slow, but most of the lots found purchasers and there remained an unsatisfied demand for good upstanding hacks and strong, active, medium draught horses.
