[r.Y TKLEOR.UMI — OWN CORUKSI'ONDKNT.] Auckland, Last Night. Wim.tam Skmmkss, a farmer of Waikato, was examined before the Official Assignee to day. He said he had been farming for seven years and had lost heavily on ploughing contracts. Ho had made over his farm at Ohaupo to his wife in 188,1 when he was solvent. The cause of his failing was the pressure of his creditors. The liabilities amount to £l(j(i 8s 2d and his assets, hay worth about £1.0 and the houso-hold furniture worth £50 or £(iO, but debtor does not think his wife will waive her right to it.
