LOCAL GOVERNMENT.
Lo.ndox, June 19Ix the House, of Commons Mr J. Morlcy moved the omission of the clause in the Local Covernment Bill referring to the Quarter Session, and the control of the chief constables. The Government were, defeated by a majority of 30, Lord liartingdon and a number of Unionists supporting Mr Morlcy.
