THE LATE EMPEROR'S FUNERAL.
[By Electhic Tui.egu.m'ii.—CornucHi. | Berlin, Judo IS. The funeral of the Into Emperor took place to-day, and was of a simple military character. Twelve tsenerals bore the i coffin to the car. The members of the ' Royal Family, the Foreign Representatives, the members of the Reichstag, and the municipal authorities followed in order. A mortuary service was held in the Royal Castle on Sunday. The Prince of Wales followed abreast with the Kmperor William. Prince Bismarck was unable to be present.. The Do wager Empress Victoria bent over the cotlin before the final dirge. June I!). Glorious weather was experienced for the funeral, rendering the military spectacle a most striking one. London, .Time IS. Salutes were fired to day, and flags lowered half-mast, as a mark of respect to the late Emperor. Speaking on the address of condolence, the Marquis of Salisbury rendered homage to one of the highest and noblest monarchs who ever reigned, as shown under circumstances of singular trial and suffering, which made Germany a famous example for Sovereigns and men of all conditions. In the House of Commons Mr Smith said England had watched the wife's conduct and affection with pride. Mr Gladstone said the memories of the deceased formed a great and noble patrimony for the German people. The address was adopted in both Houses. Sydney, June 10. All the colonies have sent' sympathetic telegrams to the Empress of Germany on the occasion of the death of Frederick 111. Melboukne, June 20. Parliament has adopted addresses of condolence to the Dowager Empress of Germany.
