ROAD BOARD MEETINGS.

Taotaoroa Road Board.

The monthly meeting of the Tnotaoroa Road Board was held at the Criterion Hotel Cambridge, on Saturday. l.'reBcnt: Messrs N. I. Hunt (chairman), H. Kallendar, C. M. and H. R. Brunskill. The minutes of the previous meeting were read mid confirmed. Fkench Pass Rovi;.—Mr H. R. Brunskill said the Cambridge Board had pretended to do the nocessary repairs to the above road, but ho did not think there had really been more than half an hour's work done to it. It was still in a bad state, and the approach to the bridge was in anything but a satisfactory condition.—The Clerk said the matter had been left in Mr Forrest's hands to attend to, and he (the clerk) would mention the matter to him that afternoon. Cambkiiwje-Oxfoko Koad.—Mr C. 51. Bruuskill reported that the Piako County Council had granted permission to the Board to keep the Cambridge Oxford Eoad hi repair "until it was legally conveyed to them. At the'.last meeting of the Council he had proposed and carried a resolution to declare it a district road, subject to the Road Board consenting. He then moved that tho board consent to the above change, which was seconded by Mr Kallendar and carried.—The Chairman said they had now better decide what to do to the road, as some portions urgently required repairing. Some of the culverts were stopped, and the water was carrying away the road. He thought it would be well to put n surface man ou it at once, or it would soon become impassable.—lt was decided to put R. Wattam on the road at once. Messrs Kallendar and C. M. Bruuskill to go over it with him and point out what wanted doing. CammvUjgk-Taciunca Road. — Tho Clerk jsaid Wattim had completed the formation on Bruce's Hill, but there was a day or two's work yet to bu done— eradicating sweetbriars and attending to the watercourses. The Chairman's Resignation.—The Clerk reported that the chairman having left the district, had tendered his resigiiatiou, and that therefore that would be the last meeting that they would have under his prasideucy. — The members present expressed their deep regret at Mr Hunt's departure, and wished him ''God speed" in his new undertaking.—The Clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps to fill the vacancy. Tun Tow.v Council. —Mr H. R. Brunskill complained of the state in which the road from the Karapiro Bridge to Bull's corner was kept by the Borough Council. —The Clerk was instructed to write to the Town Clerk regarding it. Accounts. — The following accounts were passed for paymeut : —U. Wattam, £!J 2* ; R. Wattam, £7 9s; G. W. Russell, £2 Bs. This was all the business.

Cambridge Road Board.

The above Board met at Bach's Hotel, Cambridge, at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Present : Messrs J. Taylor (chairman), .7. Forrest, B. Pickering and J. J, Smith. The minutes of the previous meeting were read aud confirmed.

New Rate.—Mr Smith proposed and Mr Pickering seconded that the new rate be j-d in the f. Carried.

The Team way Road.—ln the matter of the proposed new road from Fencourt to Hautapu, Mr Smith proposed a resolution, rescinding the former resolution of the Board to make the road; but not being seconded it fell through. It was afterwards resolved that when the work is done, the present line be adhered to ; but in the meantime the matter was adjourned until the next meeting.

Aukold's Cohnkk.—lt was proposed by Mr Smith, seconded by Mr Forrest and carried, that the Clerk write to Mr Arnold informing him that some legal dillioulty having arisen re the conveying of the land at the above corner, that the liwrd required him to undertake any extra expense, over and above a inert: conveyance, in devoting the laud to tier Majesty.

. Ti.mk• of Mkktin'i;.—lt was resolved that in future the Board meet at 2 p.m. instead of S p.m. as formerly.
