Mb Alfred Buokland's Weekly Repout. _At the Haymarket, during the past week, fodder has ranged in price from Is 9d to 2s 6d ; chaff, 2a 4d and 2s 3d tho cwt; maize, 3s ; oat?, 2s and 2s 2d the bushel; On Friday, June 8, hnrsa stock were in usuul number, and the greater part sold. Prices ranged from £'3 10s to £14 each. A waggon brought £11. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday bidding was brisk, and satisfactory prices obtained. Cow hides ranged from 2jd to 3§d ; ox hides, 3Jd to 3!d ; calfskins, 3hd to 5d the Ib ; tallow, 12s (id to 13s i)d ; bones, 4s 6d to f>3 6d the cwt ; sheepskins, from Is 5d to 4s 4d ; pelts, 3d to 9d oach. At Remuura, on Thursday, dairy cows near calving were more numerous than of late; they were required, and late values fully sustained. Store cattle of all classes were also in better demand. Feed oats, 2s to 2s 3d uer bushel; tartarians, Iroin Is 10d to 2s 2d ; oaten chaff, £2 t« £2 10s per ton ; carrots, 25s per ton. Horses : An increased number were brought forward ; there was a corresponding demand. Sales were effected without alteration in value. A good many were submitted by auction at tho Durham Yards on Friday. There was steady competition throughout the sale, and most of the lots were cleared. We quote : Hacks, at from £4 10s to £10 5s ; light harness horses, at from £0 10s to £10 17s Cd ; draught, from £9 10< to £17. Wool, hides, skins, and tallow : Quite average quantities wore submitted at the Durham yards on Tuesday, and competition was brisk. We quote: Ox hides.at from 4d to 4jd; cow hides, from 3d to 31d; calfskins, 4|d to sd; sheepskins, from 2s to 3a 10d ; tallow, 12s to lls per cwt. Cattle: The improved demand noted last week has continued, and for fat beasts a slightly advanced value was given. An average number of dairy and fat beasts were yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday, but stores were but poorly represented. However, there was a good muster of the latter at Pukekolie on Wednesday. Prices for fat beasts at the central market advanced from 5s to 15s per head, but stores and dairy stock sold relatively hotter. At Pukekoho calves sold at from (is to 9o f.d ; yearlings, from 9s to 17s G;l; eighteen months old, from 20s to 27s CJ ; grown steers, from £2 10s to £3 ; dry cows, from 23s to 35-!. Fat steers sold at from £5 10* to £7 5-s; cows, from £3 to £5 7s (id. Sheep : An increased number were yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday, but the demand was far in advance of supply, and consequently fancy prices were given, 18s being realised for fat ewes. Pigs : Plentiful, in good demand at from 2d to 3d per lb. live weight.
