THE TRI-WEEKLY TRAIN SER VICE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sl».—After reading your leading article in tt.-day's issue, I am like Josh Billings, (or whoever it wna that said it) p.iiabled to say, "Them's my sentiments! It soots me." Now that " you have put y<mr hand tn the plough" don't look back. Wlint we want if thorough retrenchment, and we all know it, but many are afraid to speak their minds. It must come if wo are to carry on, and now that the press ia taking tho matter in hand, I feel there is a better prospect in view. Up to tho present many of the papers have "gone for" retrenchment, bnt always at a distance where tliey have any subscribers. Now, this morning you '' went for" Waiknto properly, find that ia the correct thing, for retrenchment like charity commence at home. By all means, Mr Editor, letns have a tri-weokly train service, and nave the £4,000, and if you can persuade other editors to follow in your footsteps, thorough retrenchment will follow, and you will earn the everlasting gratitude of many who, like myself, sign themselves,—l am, etc., One Who Likes the Country but Hates
