OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.
The Ohinemuri County Council held its usual monthly meeting on Saturday last. Tenders for the erection of the new county chambers were ripened, Mr Albert G. Moore being the successful tenderer at £141 10-!. A contract for a bridge across the Oivharoa falls was let to Mr E. Bain for £30. A. letter was read from Mr J. C. Gavin, stating that the revenue from the Tui Creek mines had been unallocated to the i'iako County Council. Several councillors expressed their disapprobation, at the action of several person.". at Te Aroha, who had gone to the Warden 'jo matters relating to the Tui track instead of interviewing or discussing the matter first with the council. A large amount of general and routine business was gone through. At a special meeting held afterwards, a motion striking a five farthing rate throughout the comity was carried. The completion of Collet's contract for Bowler's road, Waitoa, was reported. '
