Tt is stated on good authority that it is very probable no appointments of the Railway Commissioners will be made. The report lias been put about here that Mir Maxwell is to receive one of the Connnissionerships, but this the ("iovcrument emphatically deny. Failing the selection of the commissioners, it is understood to be within the range of probability that the railways will be placed under the control of a Board of Directors selected from capable men in various parts of the colony, and meeting every few months.
