KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD,

TllE usual monthly meeting of the kiriroa Road Board was held in the \\aikato County Council Chambers at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. There were : Messrs Primrose (chairman), Edmonds, Lovell, Maclean and Steele. Funds. —The Clerk reported that the Board was £130 12s 6d in credit at the Bank, and that the rate to be struck would bring in about £336. Rate.—Mr H. Steele moved that a rate for the currentyearof in the £ be struck. —Seconded by Mr Maclean and carried. Nuisances.—The Engineer reported that the nuisances, sledges oa roads at Ngaruawahia and pigs uear cheese factory, had abated. M" awhark Roap.—The Engineer was instructed to inspect and report on this road at next meeting. Extension of Time. —Mr T. Jones, the contractor for gravelling Seddon's road, applied for an extension of time. The matter was left in the hands of the engineer. Surfaceman.—The Clerk was instructed to inform the surfaceman that after the end of the present mouth his rate of wages would be 5s per day instead of 6s as at present, aud also to call for tenders for the maintenance of the road from the Upper Woodlands gate to the Tamahere bridge, via the Peach Grove, through Claudelands to the Hamilton School Bridge, and from Steele's corner to the Tamahere boundary. Payments.—Hunt, £2 7s; Waikato County, £70 ; Davis, £8 6s 8d ; Johnson, £7 Is ; Walford, £3. This being all the business the Board rose.
