THE VOLUNTEER PATRONAGE.
TO THE EDITOR. Silt, —In reply to your correspondent, who expresses sucti surprise at my not having allowed the men to appear in uniform at the late Ethiopian entertainment, allow me to give him the true facts of the case. The letter asking the patronage of the company having been read to the men. I explained that the object effected them in so much that many ot them are members of both clubs, (namely cricket and football), and asked all in favour to shoulder arms, when only 3 out of 41 did so. On seeing this I gave orders not to appear in uniform. Your correspondent should learn to spell the word Truth in future. —Yours truly, James Reiii, Captain Hamilton Light Infantry.
