FRIDAY. The Speaker took his seat at 2.30. Hon. Mr Waterhouse gave notice to move that in the present financial condition of the colony it ia not expedient to proceed further with North Island railways, except from Woodville to Palmerston.' The debate on the second reading of the Codlin Motli Bill was adjourned for a fortnight. Tlio, Chinese Immigrants Act Amendment Bill, was recommitted and ordered to be read a third time on Tuesday. The Council rose at 4.50 till Tuesday.
