WAITOA.

Meeting or Road Board.—The usual monthly meeting of the Waitoa Road Board took place last Saturday. Present : Messrs W. P. Chepmell (chairman,) PI. Burnett, J. Horrell, IS- W. Haniner, and J. Turnbull. A good deal of correspondence was submitted for consideration, but nothing of very great public importance. The engineer reported that he had as instructed, gone along with Mr Turnbull and examined the culverts on the Gorge road, and found eight of them in such a rotten state, that they would require to be replaced immediately. The rest of them, and these the largest, would, he thought, stand for some time. Of the sight to be renewed, he decided to make four of thorn pipe ou'verts. Ho intended to order timber for the four wooden ones and employ a man to put them up, so that the cost of the whole would not come to much. The Board resolved to as the engineer suggested. It was decided to get repairs done on the Stanley road from Johnson's creek to the Te Aroha West School Accounts. —Accounts amounting to £51 10s 9d were passed for payment.
