RANGIAOHIA ROAD BOARD.
The adjourned meeting of the above board was held on Friday, the 18th May, at 2 p.m. Present: Messrs Wm. Taylor, J. Cunningham," It. Burke and J. B. Teasdale. This being the first meeting of the now board, it was resolved that Mr Taylor be re elected chairman. Contracts.—-The work on Pickett Hill and the formation near Weal's having been completed to the engineer's satisfaction, he recommended that the contractors be paid £10 on the former and £10 on the latter. These sums in each case are the final payments, the deposits being held back for another month, during the period for which each work has to be maintained by the contractors, —The Engineer recommended that the deposit on contract No. 12, grading Story's road, be returned. Anderson's Bkidoe.— The approaches to this bridge had become much water worn and out of order. It has been repaired in a satistactory manner. The work was done under the instructions of Mr Maunder. Bkiik;e on Kmiik rur- F'c.wnr Road Nkak llusheiwon'h.—lt was found on removing some of the planks of this bridge that more were in a decayed condition than was at tirst expected. All the worst have been taken up and replaced by now planks, and the approaches have beeu repaired. Road near Cai'T. Boukett's.— I The engineer was instructed to have this road repaired. Stokey's Road.—The board find they have not sufficient funds at their disposal to do any more work on this road at present. Pikuka Swamp Road.—Since the last meeting of the Board the engineer has made arrangements to have this road faseined inj the worst places. The fascines are'all cut for this work, but owing to the late rains the river has risen over the portion of the road to be repaired, and the work for the present has to be suspended. resolved to have this road repaired. The engineer was ins: ructed to have the work done.
Gkavkllino Burkk's Hill Road.— The clerk was instructed to write to the Mangapiko Road Board, and state that the Rangiaohia Board are C|iiite willing to do five chains of gravelling on this road provided the Mangapiko Board will do five chains.
Dates ok Alkktinc!.— It was resolved that, in future, during the winter months, the Board will hold their meetings on'the second Friday in each month at 3 p.m. Vote ok Thanks.—lt wis proposed by the Chairman, and carried unanimously, that a vote of thanks be tendered to Mr J. W. Roft'ev for his kindness in allowing the Board to hold their meetings in his shop. Accounts. —The following accounts were ordered to be paid \V. Given and Son. £10; Campbell MeWilliatns, £10! T.
