THE PUBLIC BUILDINGS.
« TO TKE KDITOR. Sik, —As there is a great outcry about the public buildings, both for and against, would it not be prudeut on the part of the council, to either buy or lease the premises occupied by the Bank of Australia, as they are about to close in Hamilton, and no doubt they would bo quite willing to sell or lease the same ; thereby saving a vast amount of money, and we shcnld have all the requirements that we want both for council chambers, library, reading room, clerk's office, etc., etc., in the said building. Hoping this will meet the approval of the Mayor and councillors, thereby saving :i vast amount of contention re the public buildings.—l am, yours etc., Eatki'ayer.
