The Waikaln Times Oilice, Friday. WAIKATO LIVESTOCK: MAUKKTS. Mil J MiXk'ol reports :—At Hamilton mi Wednesday [ had a large number of cattle, sheep and horses, and accoinmodatimi was not sufficient for the cattle, and in consequence several lots were not offered, causing a deal of dissatisfaction but under tliu circumstances it was unavoidable. Cattle sold at loss than late values: Fat cows, from £2 to ,K4 10s ; empty store cows, 25s each : IS month to two-year-old steers, 28s to 30s each. Fat two-year-old steers, £1 18s to £2 5< ; nearly fat three year old ■stoers, £3 to L' 3 10-?. Dairy cows, £2 to £3 10s. Fat sheep, !)s each ; lambs, 5s each ; 200 store ewes, 5s each ; wethers passed at 8s !)d each. Captain Daly's clearing sale on Thursday was well attended, furniture, implements, &c., sold well as did dairy cows. Horses wore almost given away and could hardly bo placed at any price. On Friday, horse stock were at late values ; a flooded buggy brought £15. At Waiultu, on Saturday, there was a largo muster of cattle ; pricoa were low, particu larly for grown steers. At Keirmera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were at-late values ; prices ranged for useful cows near calving from £4 to £5 10s ; store cattle at late

values; fat cattle in good demand at s slight advance, ; good steers were steady al 17s tho lOOlbs ; sheep, in short supply, als< obtained an advance of Is each on bosl wethers; pigs, abundant, were at lat< values, Mussns. Hinteii and Nolan's Wkekm Hkport.—Horse feed, seeds, grain, itc. : There has been a steady supply and improved demand, with * slightly upward tendency in value. Horses : There was a moderate supply and correspond irig demand, without any material alteration in values. The number entered at the Durham Yards, on Friday, was scarcely so large a-i on the previous week, nor was bidding quite so brisk. A well-bred cross country hack sold at £30; ordinary, £5 to £!); light harness horses, £8 to £13 ; draught and inferior stamp are dull of sale. There remained an unsatisfied demand for active brood mares in foal. Wool, hides aud skins : Largo quantities were pitched »t tho Durham Yards, on Tuesday, and competition was spirited. We quote heavy ox hides, 4jd ; medium, 4|d to Ifd ; cow, 2h(i to 3jjd; calfskins, 4,jd to 5d per lb; sheepskins, 2s Id to 3s 7d each ; tallow, 12s to lis Gd per cwt. Cattle have been brought forward in largo numbers, and there has been an improved demand for stores and fat beasts. The Newmarket and Pukekohe yards were well idled on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. There was a good attendance ot buyers. (Imwu steers sold at from £2 to £3 17s lid ; dry cows from 20s to £1 7s (id ; calves, 10s to 17s lid. Sheep were rather limited in number at the Newmarket yards on Tuesday, but bidding was not quite so spirited as on the previous week, but there was ho noteworthy alteration in value.
