FOOTBALL MATCH.
England v. Canterbury.
[by TEI.EGIIAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Can'tehduiiy, Wednesday. The return mutch between England and Canterbury football teams took place this afternoon on Lancaster Park, resulting in a victory for the Englishmen by four points to nil. The weather was cold and dull, but about 3,000 people were present. The game was nearly even during the lirst spell, the ball being almost as often in the Englishmen's 25 as in that of the Canterbury men. Both teams made the game fast, the passing and collaring of the local team being almost ecjual to that of the visitors, Towards the end of the spell Paineth secured a try for the Englishmen. Paul took the kick at goal, but missed. In the second spell the ball was more frequently in Canterbury's territory. Nolan got three tries for England, but every kick at goal failed.
