(by telegraph.—phess association.) MASTERJTON, Wednesday. Isaac Bairstow, an old settler, was found dead on the Taratahi main roafT last night, lie is supposed to have been thrown from his horse, which was found two miles further on. CHRISTOHURCH, Wednesday. Early yesterday morning a store at ITororata, belonging to' Sophia Lcahe, ami insured for £100 in the Colonial Office, was burned down. It continued stock belonging to a hawker named Davey, which was insured in the Sun office for £300. Nothing was saved. The cause of the (ire has not been ascertained.
