The disturbance became so serious that the assistance of the police had to be called in, and finally the crowds were dispersed, but not before many of the rioters were injured. The Chamber of Deputies hiH agreed to postpone the question of reforming the constitution for the present. The Cabinet has decided that M. Sardi-Carnot should proceed on his tour as originally fixed, and which, fearing Boulanger demonstrations, he had agreed to postpone.
