TE AROHA.
Eastkii tiok. — The Easter holidays passed over very quietly here. Monday, a day usually devoted to pleasuring, was marked by few signs of gaiety, most of the inhabitants pursuing the even tenor of their way at their ordinary avocations. In the evening a very successful and pleasing entertainment took place in the Public Hull which was filled to its utmost capacity on the occasion. Most of the performers were local amateurs (principally juvenile) and the success of their efforts was heartily testified to by the applause of the numerous audience. To Mr P. (Jaes, who was the principal promoter of the entertainment, great praise is fine for the excellence of the a'Tunm'tnuiiti. The proceeds, nmoui.ting to alioiit i'i.'i aft, wili bo devoted to the reduction of ihi: debt on St. Joseph's (Catholie) Church.
