SPORTS AT TAUWHARE.
The Tauwbare Easter sports took place on Monday, and drew a very fair attendance of spectators from the neighbouring districts. Mr Walworth, of tin; Temperance Hotel, provided lunch in his usual style. The course was well laid out, and Mr Speake, secretary ; Mr Diprosc, starter ; Mr Dodd, judge ; and Mr Kent, clerk of the course, performed their various functions very efficiently. Tim following is a report of the different events : — Open Events. Maiden Flat Rack 100 yards. Ist. prize, 20s ; 2nd, ss. A. Kusabs 1 W. Box 2 W. Sommens 3 Tauwhai(K Cup, IQO yards, Ist. stage. Ist. prize, £4 ; 2nd, 30s, A. McKinnon, scratch ... ... 1 A. Kusabs, 1 yards - W. .7. Semmens, 4 yards ... 3 Tauwhauk Cup, 250 yards ; 2nd statrc. A. Mclvinnon, scratch 1 liloomrield, l."i yards 2 H. Bowen, 15. yards ... ... 3 Taowhahk Cup, 400 yards ; 3rd stage. BliHimfield, 25 yards 1 Bmvoii, 25 yards ... ... ... 2 Kiisiibs, 12" yards 3 McKinnon having scored two firsts did not run the 400 yards stage, thus winning the cup, Bloomfield being second.
