OUTBREAK OF SMALL-POX.
(BT ELECTRIC TKLKQKAI'H.—COPTIUOHT.) Sydney, April 1. Some excitement has been caused by the announcement that a case of smallpox had broken out near the city. It appears that a two-year-old child of Mr Allen Lakeman, M.L.A for Balronald, who resides at Manly, nine miles north of here, has been attacked with the dreaded disease. The case was reported on Saturday night, aud steps were at once taken to have the family removed into quarantine and the house disinfected. The health authorities are, in consequence of the outbreak, refusing to issue clean bills of clearance to vessels leaving the port.
