Revival ok tub District.— There are indications that the stagnation which has so long prevailed in mining matters throughout this district will shortly give way to a more healthy state of things. Tho recent discovery of good silver bearing ore at the Tui, and the excellent stone that has for some time been got in the Silver King claim at Waiorongomai, have in a great measure restored confidence as to tho future prosperity of the field, and this faith is shared in by several mining oxperts who have recently visited the district, one of whom Mr W. R. Wilson, a director and large share-holder in the celebrated Broken Hill mine, has expressed himself most favourably regarding the mineral wealth, both of the Waiorongomai and Tui localities. A very large urea of country has recently been pegged out and applied for, and there is every likelihood that the resources of the field will now be fully developed.
