FATAL ACCIDENT AT KAWHIA.
Chaiu.Ks J. Morgan, saddler, residing at, Kawhin, was thrown from liis horse at 12 o'clock on Saturday, and killed on the spot. Mr Rutherford, J. P., who happened to bo in the township, will hold an enquiry. LATER. News arrived hero (Alexandra) last night of a fatal accident which bofel Mr Charles Morgan atKawhia yesterday morning. The deceased was endeavouring, in company with a native, to drive a young home into his paddock, and while riding hard to a point of the creek, the horse he was riding, stumbled, throwing Mr Morgan on to its neck, which brought the animal down, the horse's shoulder falling on deceased neck and breaking it, causing instantaneous death. The deceased was a son of Mrs Matilda Morgan, late of Alexandra, and now residing at Kawhia, Mr Morgan has for some time past been working at his trade as a saddler there, and forming a home. He was a remarkably quiet and well-conducted young man, and universally liked both here and at Kawhia, and his death has caused quite a gloom there.
