A cable message of yesterday's date provides us with the information that a Bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives of the United States, proposing some very important alterations in the tariff, which are of the utmost interest to these colonies. It provides for the reduction of the tariff by 53,000,000 dollars, including 17,230,000 dollars on woollens, and 11,000.000 dollars on sugar. After Ist July next all wools are to be admitted free of duty to the United States. The Bill also provides th:it flax and hemp shall be admitted free of duty. It is generally considered probable that the Bill will prove acceptable to the House of Representatives, but that it is doubtful if the Senate will pass it.
