IMPURE LITERATURE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —An inhabitant of Cambridge lias handed me a list of books that ho found in the pust-oftice on Saturday morning when he went to write a telegram. It is certainly a very choice catalogue of its kind ; but the kind is of the dirtiest description, and if the vendors arc not breaking the law, they are certainly " sailing very close to the wind." Upon enquiry, I find that a book store was opened on Saturday in a small shop next to the Criterion Hotel; it is said for one day only, and I hope it will be so, and it was from there that the slip was issued. The address upon it was " American News Depot, Manners-street,. Wellington." If this catalogue is a fair sample of their stock, they have indeed a mine of Kith.—l am, &c. Vox.
