Inspector Shearman received a cablegram this morning, from the New South Wales Commissioner of police, stating that Senac who had been arrested in Sydney on the charge of committing certain burglaries in this city, was yesterday committed for trial at the Police Court for house-breaking. As S;riac _ will now have to await the result of his trial in the Sydney Supreme Court, it will be some time before he reaches this city. Should he be found guilty hero also for burglary, the authorities wiil have to decide which Government he shall serve the sentences under. No less than nine cases of fever in Ponsonliy have been reported to the Sanitary Inspector to-day. C Hit. Wddoian died at 1 o'clock this morning at the Thames. The funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon from St. George's Church at half-past 2. The athletic sports to be held in the Domain to-morrow afternoon by the \uckland Amateur Athletic and Bicycle clubs promise in every to be a great success. The Bell has a very strong article tonight, re the Herald's utterances regarding the Harbour Bind fiouiCM, and proves the Herald's figures utterly incorrect.
