(By Elkctuio Tki.eouaph.— Copvbight.) Perth, W.A., February 9. Particulars are to hand respecting the reuently-reported affray at Shark's Bay, between the Malay pearlers and the whites. It is alleged that there was a conspiracy ou the part of the Malays to murder all the whites, the discovery of which resulted in a melee, in which several Malays were killed, as previously reported. Sydn'kv, February 9. A little girl, 10 years of age, was run over and out to pieces by a tram this tnoruing. This is the second child killed within the past week or two. The right to charge for admission to the Agricultural Show Grounds, which ia on a part of the Moore Park, was tested in Court to-day, when a number of men who had force'l an entrance to the (Jcuteuuial Agricultural Show weresummoued •'or the charge of admission. After argument by counsel, the Court gave judgment ugaiust the Agricultural Society. This decision is regarded as disastrous to the Society, who have just expended a large I stun in the erection of new buildings. The Hon. Mr Simpson, M.L.C., will succeed the Hon. B. it VVise as Attor-ney-General in the Parke's Government. The R. M. s.s. Mariposa arrived to-day from San Francisco via Auckland. She has been placed iu quarantine, having one case of small-pox on board, but her detention will probably be of short duration. The Government intend to construct only light railways in the future. Micldockn'e, February 0. An action for damages lias been,brought against the Government for £4000 in oomicetion with the Windsor railway accident. The artillerymen are dissatisfied at being kept on duty at Queenscliff during the visit of the Governors and Lord Carnarvon. They wanted to so to the races. A do/en have been arrested, and several desertions have taken place recently.
