Domain Board.—The usual monthly meeting of the Domain Board took place on Saturday evening last, all the members being present. There was no business of importance. The secretary's statement showed the receipts frnm the baths for the four weeks ending December 31~t, to bo £-18, and for the five weeks ending February 4th, £73. A letter was received frnm Dr Wright's relative to the medical superintendence of tli oaths, but the consideration of the matte' was postponed till a future moetin?. Tit e'erk was instructed to forward to Mr K"i! ,\l. H. 11., a copy of the schedule of work -, which were to be carried out with the ,-t'oQO grant promised to tho Board by the late Government. Some formal business c included the, proceedings. R -\I. Court.—At the sitting of the R.M Court on the 7th inst., the principal business was th" hearing ot a number of cases in which the Piako C unity Council sued for rates ;md in whieh judgment was obtained as follows :—E. Waudkn's Couiit.— Mining Inspector v. ■las. (Jocks for arrears of rent. Judgmentfor HI and costs lis. Applications of J. H. Keep for special claim at Tui Creek, and of J. M. Chambers for water race, also at Tui Creek, both adjourned to the 21st inst. Applications by J. C. Firth for protection of special claim at YVaiorongomai, Protac tion granted till May oth. Scnooi, CoMMiTTKic.— The regular meeting of the District Sel-iool Committee was held on Tuesday. Present: The Rev. J. Marshall, (chairman), and Messrs Mills, Livery, Dobson, and Farrell. Tho report of the head teacher showed that a satisfactory number of the pupils had returned to school after the Christmas holidays. A circular from the Board of Education, was read re the approaching election of three new members of the board. It was resolved that the committee give its support to Messrs J. NV. Carr, R. Monk, and J. H. Upton. At the close of the proceedings, the chairman took occasion to express the regret fell by himself and the other members at losing the services and assistance of Mr Lavery whose early departure for another colony has necessitated his resignation as a member of the committee. He referred in eulogistic terms to the great interest displayed by Mr Lavery iu all matters touching the education and improvement of the young ever since the school was established, in the starting of which at the first opening of the goldfield, he (Mr Lasery) had been an active promoter. The valuable aid he had on all occasions rendered was fully appreciated Jay the committee, the members of which united in wishing him future prosperity. _ Church of England.—An aroliidiaconal conference of tho clerey and laity of the Anglican Church in tho Waikato and Upper Thames districts is to take place here about the latter end of the present month. The proceedings will be of an interesting nature, and it is anticipated there will be a large attendance.
